since it is covering 10 min then the area will be( pi r square )divided by 6
because 10min/60min=1/6.
therefore area is =( 22/7 into (10.5)^2)/6 =57.5

The area swept by it in 10 minutes would be 57.75 cm².

• Given data :

The length of the minute hand = 10.5 cm

Total time = 10 minutes

• Now,if we divide 360° by 12 numbering of the clock, then we will get that 5 minutes on the clock is equal to the 30° of angular space.

• So, 10 minutes = 30° × 2 = 60°

• Now,taking the minute hand as the radius of a circle,we will get that the for 360° movement the swept area by the minute hand is

= π × (10.5)²

= 346.5 cm²

• Now, 360° = 346.5 cm²

1° = 346.5/360 cm²

60° = 346.5 × 60/360 = 57.75 cm²

So,the area swept in 10 minutes is 57.75 cm². (Answer)
