Given :-

  • the length of a rectange is 3 cm more than it breadth
  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 34cm

 \\

To Find :-

  • Length and Breadth of Rectangle

 \\

Solution :-

⟾ Let the Breadth of Rectangle be x

⟾ Then Length of Rectangle will be x + 3

According to the Question :

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

➞ 34 = 2 ( x + 3 + x )

➞ 34 / 2 = x + 3 + x

➞ 17 = 2x + 3

➞ 17 - 3 = 2x

➞ 14 = 2x

➞ 14 / 2 = x

➞ 7 = x

________________

Verification :

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (x + 3 + x)

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (7 + 3 + 7)

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (10 + 7)

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 × 17

34 = 34

Hence Verified

________________

Therefore :

  • Length = x + 3 = 7 + 3 = 10cm
  • Breadth = x = 7cm

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle:

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²
