6x + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

QUESTION :-

The length of a rectangular flower bed is (2x - 1) metres and the width is (x + 2) metres. Find the perimeter of this flower bed in terms of x.

SOLUTION :-

Given,

Length (l) = (2x - 1)

Width (w) = (x + 2)

Perimeter = 2 (l + w)

= 2 {(2x - 1) + (x + 2)}

= 2 (2x - 1 + x + 2)

= 2 (2x + x + 2 - 1)

= 2 (3x + 1)

= 2(3x) + 2(1)

= 6x + 2

Hence the perimeter of flower bed is 6x + 2.
