Required Length = 8 cm

Given Terms:

  • Length of rectangle exceeds its breadth by 3 cm
  • Perimeter of rectangle is 38 cm

Need To Find:

  • What is the length of rectangle ?

Solution: Let breadth be y cm.

=> New length = Breadth + 3

=> New length = y + 3

➠ Perimeter = 2 × (Length + Breadth)

According to the question :-

➥ 38 = 2 × (y + 3 + y)

➥ 38 = 2 × (2y + 3)

➥ 38 = 4y + 6

➥ 38 – 6/4 y

➥ 32/4 = y

➥ 8 = y

Required length of rectangle is 8 cm .
