The length of a rectangle exceeds its width by 8cm and the area of the rectangle is 240 sq. Cm find tge dimenshions of the rectangle?

240=x²+8x

so x=-20 or x=12

∵The dimensions cannot be negative

∴x=12

length=20cm

breadth=12cm
