Explanation-:

Formula of perimeter of Rectangle-:

“P= 2(l+b)”

P = Perimeter

L = length

B = Breadth or width

Given,

Perimeter of Rectangle-: 180m

And ,

Length is twice to its breadth

To find,

The dimensions of Rectangle

____________________________

Solution-:

Let the width of a rectangle be y

Then ,

According to the question,

Length of rectangle-: 2 y

Formula of perimeter of Rectangle-:

“P = 2 (l+b)”

P = Perimeter = 180n

L = length = 2 y

B = Breadth = y

Then,

180 = 2(y+2y)

2y + y = 180/2

3y = 90

Y = 90/3

Y = 30

Therefore,

The breadth of rectangle = y = 30m

The length of rectangle= 2y = 2 x30

= 60 cm

The length of the rectangle-: 60 cm

The breadth of rectangle-: 30 cm

____________________________

Verification-:

Formula of Perimeter of Rectangle-:

“P = 2(l +b)”

P = Perimeter = 180 m

L = length = 60 m

B = breadth = 30 m

Then ,

2 (60 + 30) = 180

2 x 90 = 180

180 = 180

Therefore,

LHS = RHS

Hence verified
