{\underline{\underline{\large{\bold{Given:-}}}}}

  • The length of a rectangle field is twice its breadth.
  • The perimeter of the field is 222 m.

{\underline{\underline{\large{\bold{To\: find:-}}}}}

  • Length and breadth.

{\underline{\underline{\large{\bold{Solution:-}}}}}

Consider,

  • Length of the rectangle field =x m
  • Breadth of the rectangle field = y m

According to the 1st condition :-

  • The length of a rectangle field is twice its breadth.

\to\sf{x=2y....................(1)}

According to the 2nd condition :-

  • The perimeter of the field is 222 m.

\to\sf{2(x+y)=222}

\to\sf{x+y =\dfrac{222}{2}}

\to\sf{x+y=111}

\to\sf{2y+y=111\:[put\:x=2y\: from\:eq(1)]}

\to\sf{3y=111}

\to\sf{y=37}

  • Breadth = 37 m

Now, put y= 37 in eq(1) for getting the value of x.

\to\sf{x=2y}

\to\sf{x=2\times\:37}

\to\sf{x=74}

  • Length = 74 m

Therefore, length of the rectangle field is 74 m & the breadth of the rectangle field is 37 m.

{\underline{\underline{\large{\bold{Verification:-}}}}}

  • Length = 74 m
  • Breadth = 37 m

Perimeter of rectangle field = 222 m

2(74+37) = 222

→ 222 = 222

Hence Verified !

Explanation

let the length be x.

breath equals to 2x.

2(x+2x)=222

2×3x=222

6x=222

x=222÷6

x=37

length = 37m

breadth = 37 ×2= 74

Hope it helps you
