Answer:

Perimeter of recatngle = 2(length+breadth)

Here it is given that length is twice of breadth

Let 'L' be the length and 'b' be the breadth then

It is given that L=2b

And as per given information

2(L+b)=72

We can replace 'L' with '2b' because it's twice of b

Then we will get

2(2b+b)=72

2(3b)=72

6b=72

b=72/6=12

Therefore Length= 2×12=24

The length of a rectangle in twice its breadth . If the perimeter is 72 meters , find the length and breadth of the rectangle

\huge\bold{\underline{Answer:}}

Given:

  • The length of a rectangle in twice its breadth .
  • the perimeter of the rectangle is 72 meters

To find:

find the length and breadth of the rectangle

Solution :

Let the breadth of rectangle be ' x '

Thus, the length will be 2x

We know that,

\boxed{\bf{\red{Perimeter\:of\:rectangle=2(length+breadth}}}

ATQ,

\sf{:\implies 2(x+2x)=72}

\sf{:\implies 2x+4x=72}

\sf{:\implies 6x=72}

\sf{:\implies x=\dfrac{72}{6}}

\boxed{\bf{\pink{⟹\:x=12\:m}}}

Therefore,

Breadth of rectangle is 12 m

and the length of the rectangle will be 2x = 2 × 12 = 24 m
