let, breadth be b,

so, length be 1/3b

perimeter of rectangle = 64

or, 2(l+b) =646

or, 2(1/3b+b)=64

or, 2/3b+2b=64

or,( 2b+6b)/3=64

or, 8b=64*3

or, b=192/8

therefore, b=24

length = 1/3 b

           =1/3*24

            =8
