The length of a rectangle is 1 cm more than 2 times its breadth its perimeter is 80 cm what is its length

breadth = x

length = 2x +1

perimeter = 2*(length+breadth)

80 =2(x +2x+1)

80=6x+1

79=6x

Solution -

Let's assume the breadth as x cm

So, the length as 2x + 1 cm

According to Question,

Given : Perimeter of rectangle = 80 cm

2(length + breadth) = 80 cm

2(x + 2x + 1) = 80

⇒ 3x + 1 = 80 / 2

⇒ 3x + 1 = 40

⇒ 3x = 40 - 1 = 39

⇒ x = 39 / 3

⇒ x = 13

Required Measurements -

Breadth = x = 13 cm

Length = 2x + 1 = 2(13) + 1 = 26 + 1

= 27 cm

Hence, the length is 27 cm and the breadth is 13 cm
