Answer:

let the width of rectangle = x

Then lenght = x + 1

Perimeter = 14 cm

14 = 2 (x + x + 1 )

14 = 2 ( 2x + 1 )

2x + 1 = 7

x = 3

So , width = 3 cm & lenght = 4 cm

Area of rectangle = Lenght × width

= 3 × 4 = 12 cm

So the answer is option ( b ) 12 cm .

Hope it helps you!

Answer:

b. 12 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

2(l+b)=perimeter

2(x+x+1)=14

2x+2x+2=14

4x+2=14

4x=14-2=12

x=12÷4

x=3

Width=3cm. Length=(3+1=4cm)

Area=3x4=12cm
