let breath = x

let length = 2x+1

perimeter=50 cm

perimeter=2*(l+b)                                         where l is length and b is breath

50 cm=2*(x+2x+1)

6x+2=50 cm

6x=50-2

6x=48

x=48/6

x=7 cm

2x+1=2*7+1=15cm

hope this helps u

let the breath be x,

length be 1 + 2x

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

50 = 2(x + 1 + 2x)

50 = 2(3x + 1)

 \frac{50}{2}  = (3x + 1) \\ 25 = (3x + 1)\\25 - 1 = 3x \\ 24 = 3x \\ x =  \frac{24}{3}  \\ x = 8

Therefore, breadth = 8cm

& length = 2x+1

= 2(8) + 1

= 16 + 1

length = 17cm
