Answer:

Breadth=8cm and length=17 cm

Given:

Length of rectangle is 1 more than 2 times its breadth

And perimeter of the rectangle=50cm

To find:

length and breadth of the rectangle

Solution:-

Let the breadth be x

Then length be 2x+1

We know that

perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

50=2(2x+1+x)

50=2(3x+1)

50=6x+2

50-2=6x

48=6x

48/6=x

8=x

----------

Breadth=8 cm

Length=2x+1

=2×8+1

=17 cm

------------------------

★Verification★

Perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

=2(8+17)

=2(25)

=50 cm

50cm=50cm

• Let breadth of rectangle be (M).

__________ [ ASSUME ]

• We have to find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

_______________________________

》 The length of a rectangle is 1 more than 2 times its breadth.

Length = (2M + 1)

We know that..

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Perimeter of rectangle = 50 cm _____ [ GIVEN ]

Put the known values in above formula

=> 50 = 2[(2M + 1) + M]

=> 50 = 2(3M + 1)

=> 50 = 6M + 2

=> 50 - 2 = 6M

=> 48 = 6M

=> 8 = M

=> M = 8

So,

Length of rectangle = [2(8) + 1]

=> 16 + 1

=> 17 cm

Breadth of rectangle = 8 cm

_______________________________

Length = 17 cm and Breadth = 8 cm.
