let the breadth of the rectangle be a

then it's length = a + 12

Perimeter of rectangle = 48cm

=> 2 ( l + b ) = 48 => ( 2a + 12 ) = 24

=> 2a = 12 => a = 6

∴ Breadth of the rectangle = a = 6cm

Length = a + 12 = 6 + 12 = 18cm
