the length of a rectangle is 12 m more than the breadth . If the perimeter is 240 m . Find the length and breadth​

Answer:

let the breadth be x m

so the length will be x+12 m

perimeter of rectangle=240 m

so, 2(x+12+x)=240

so, 2(2x+12)=240

so, 4x+24=240

so, 4x=240-24

so, x=216/4

so, x=54

so, breadth of rectangle =54 m

so, length of rectangle =54+12 m = 66m

length=66m breadth=54m

then length will be 12 + x

perimeter = 2(length+ breadth). 2×(12+x + x) =240 24+ 4x= 240.

4x= 240-24

4x=216

x= 216÷4

x=54m

Hence length= 12+x

=12+54= 66m

breadth=x

=54m
