Let the length of the rectangle = l

Let the breadth of the rectangle = b.

Given that the length of the rectangle is 12cm more than its breadth.

l = b + 12  ------------- (1)

We know that perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l + b).

Given that perimeter of the rectangle = 144cm.

2(l + b) = 144

2(b + 12 + b) = 144

2(2b + 12) = 144

2b + 12 = 72

2b = 60

b = 30.

Breadth b = 30cm.

Length = b + 12

            = 42cm.

verification:

2(l + b) = 144

2(30 + 42) = 144

2(72) = 144

144 = 144

Hope this helps!

Answer:

Let the length of the rectangle = l

Let the breadth of the rectangle = b.

Given that the length of the rectangle is 12cm more than its breadth.

l = b + 12  ------------- (1)

We know that perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l + b).

Given that perimeter of the rectangle = 144cm.

2(l + b) = 144

2(b + 12 + b) = 144

2(2b + 12) = 144

2b + 12 = 72

2b = 60

b = 30.

Breadth b = 30cm.

Length = b + 12

           = 42cm.

verification:

2(l + b) = 144

2(30 + 42) = 144

2(72) = 144

144 = 144
