Answer:

Let breadth be x, and length be x+15,

2(x+x+15)=150 cm

2(2x+15)=150 cm

4x+30 is equal to 150 cm

4x is equal to 150-30 = 120 cm

x= 120/4 = 30 cm

Breadth is 30 cm, so length is 30+15 = 45 cm

Given :

  • The perimeter of rectangle = 150 cm
  • Length of a rectangle is 15 cm more than the breadth.

To find :

  • Length of rectangle

According to the question,

Let the breadth be x

Length be (15 + x)

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

➞ 150 = 2(x + x + 15)

➞ 150 = 2(2x + 15)

➞ 150 = 4x + 30

➞ 150 - 30 = 4x

➞ 120 = 4x

➞ 120 ÷ 4 = x

➞ 30 = x

  • So,the value of x is 30 cm.

Breadth :

➞ x

➞ 30 cm

Length :

➞ 15 + x

➞ 15 + 30

➞ 45 cm

  • So,the length of rectangle is 45 cm.

Verification :

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 150 cm

➞ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

➞ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(45 cm + 30 cm)

➞ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(75 cm)

➞ Perimeter of rectangle = 150 cm

.°. L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence,verified.
