Given:-
- Diagonal of a rectangle = 20 cm
- Length of the rectangle = 16 cm
To find:-
- Find the area of the rectangle ?
Solutions:-
- The length of the rectangle is 16cm.
- The diagonal of the rectangle is 20cm.
Pythagoras theorem
Hypotenuse² = base² + Perpendicular²
- Hypotenuse = 20 cm
- Base = 'b' cm
- Perpendicular = 16 cm
=> (20)² = b² + 16
=> 400 = b² + 256
=> 400 - 256 = b²
=> 144 = b²
=> √144 = b
=> 12 = b
=> b = 12cm.
- The base of the rectangle is 12 cm.
We know that,
The area of rectangle = length × breadth
- Length = 16 cm
- Breadth = 12 cm
According to question:-
=> 16 × 12
=> 192cm²
Hence, the area of rectangle is 192 cm².
Some Important:-
- A = l × b
- P = 2(l + b)
Where,
- A = Area of rectangle
- P = Perimeter of rectangle
- l = Length of the rectangle
- b = Breadth of rectangle
