Answer :

Given:

  • The length of a rectangle is 2 cm more than its breadth.
  • Its perimeter is 28 cm

Find:

  • The length and breadth of the rectangle.

\large{\underline{\mathfrak{Solution:-}}}

Let the breadth of 1 cm = x

And length = x + 2

Formula for Perimeter of Rectangle :-

\large{\boxed{\sf{Perimeter\;of\;Rectangle=2( Length+ Breadth)}}}

» Putting values in formula:

{\sf{Perimeter\;of\;Rectangle=2( Length+ Breadth)}}

= {\sf{28\:cm=2(( x+2) + x )}}

= {\sf{28\:cm=2(2x + 2 )}}

= {\sf{28\:cm=4x + 4}}

= {\sf{28-4=4x}}

= {\sf{24=4x}}

= {\sf{\dfrac{24}{4}=x}}

= {\sf{6\;=x}}

The length and breadth are :-

Breadth - x = 6 cm

Length - x + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8 cm
