the length of a rectangle is 2 cm more than its breadth if the perimeter of the rectangle is 16 cm find the length and the breadth of the rectangle

Let,

Breadth = b
Length = b + 2

××××××××××××××

Perimeter = 2(length + breadth)

16 = 2(b + b + 2)

8 = 2b + 2

8 - 2 = 2b

6 = 2b

6/2 = b

3 = b

××××××××××××××××××××

Then, breadth=b=3 cm

Length = b + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5 cm
