Question:

The length of a rectangle is 20 cm more 5han its breadth if the perimeter is 100 cm, find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Given:

Length is 20 cm more than its breadth.

Perimeter of the rectangle = 100 cm

Solution:

Let the breadth be x cm.

Length = x + 20

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

100 = 2(x + 20 + x)

100 = 2(2x + 20)

50 = 2x + 20

2x = 30

x = 15

Breadth of rectangle = 15

Length of rectangle = 35

Given :

⬤ Length of Rectangle is 20 cm more than its Breadth.

⬤ Perimeter of Rectangle is 100 cm.

To Find :

⬤ Dimensions of the Rectangle .

Formula Used :

\bf[\:{Perimeter \: of \: Rectangle = 2(l+b)}\:]

  • l = length
  • b = breadth

Solution :

Let :

  • Breadth of Rectangle be = x .
  • Length of Rectangle be = x + 20.

According to the Formula :-

100 = 2 (l + b)

100 = 2 (x + 20 + x)

100 = 2 (2x + 20)

100 = 4x + 40

100 - 40 = 4x

60 = 4x

60/4 = x

15 = x

Therefore , The Value of x is 15 .

Hence ,

Breadth of Rectangle= x

= 15

Length of Rectangle = x + 20

= 15 + 20

= 35

Therefore , Breadth of Rectangle is 15 cm and Length of Rectangle is 35 cm.
