QUESTION

:- IF THE LENGTH of a rectangle is 20 cm more than its breadth. if the perimeter is 100 cm find the dimension of the rectangle ????

ANSWER:-

BREADTH =X=15 CM

LENGTH =X+20=35CM

EXPLANATION :-

▶let the breadth be x

▶length = x+20 cm

▶perimeter =2 (l+b)

= 2 (x+20 +x)

=2 (2x+20)

=4x+40

ACCORDING TO PROBLEM

PERIMETER =100 CM

4x+40=100

4x=100-40

4x=60

x=60/4

x = 15 cm

therefore

BREADTH =X=15 CM

LENGTH =X+20=35CM
