\bf\bigstar{Question}

The length of a rectangle is 20 cm more than it's breadth . if the perimeter is 100cm , find the dimension of the rectangle.

\bf\bigstar{Answer}

Given :

Perimeter of the rectangle = 100 cm.

Length = breadth + 20 cm

To find :

Dimensions of the rectangle

ie,

Length and breadth.

Solution :

It is already given that,

Perimeter = 100 cm.

Let breadth of the rectangle will be x cm.

Then ,

Length = (x + 20) cm.

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 ( l + b)

ie,

100 cm = 2 (  x + 20 + x ) cm

100 cm = 2 ( 2x + 20) cm

            = 4x + 40 cm

100 cm = 4x + 40 cm

ie,

100 - 40 = 4x

60 = 4x

x = 60/4

x = 15 cm

Here,

x = breadth of the rectangle.

That is,

Breadth = 15 cm

Lenght = 15 + 20 = 35 cm

Dimensions of the rectangle

Length = 35 cm

Breadth = 15 cm

Checking :

Perimeter = 100 cm

ie,

2 ( l + b ) = 100 cm

On sustituting the values,

2( 35 + 15) = 100 cm

2 ( 50 ) cm = 100 cm

⇒ 100 cm = 100 cm

LHS = RHS

Hence verified !!

Hope this answer can helps u dear !! ♥
