The length of a rectangle is 20cm more than its breadth.If the perimeter is 100cm,find the dimension of the rectangle

here's your answer !!

Let the length be x .
And let the breadth be y .

Now , acc. to the question ,

x - y = 20 ------ ( 1 )

and ,

2 ( x + y ) = 100
x + y = 50 ------ ( 2 )

so, adding ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) , we get ,
x - y = 20
x + y = 50

=> 2x = 70
=> x = 35 .

There fore , y = 35 - 20 = 15 .

So , the length is 35 cm .
And the breadth is 15 cm .
