To find : area of rectangle field.

Given :  length of a rectangle is 27 m longer than its breath and if the perimeter of the rectangle is 110 m.

Solution :

  • According to question we are given that  length of a rectangle is 27 m longer than its breath and its perimeter of the rectangle is 110 m. We have to find area of rectangle .
  • Let , breadth be x m and length be ( x + 27 ) \ m
  • Perimeter = 2 (l + b )

      110 =  2 (27 +x +x ) \\55 = 27 + 2x \\55-27 = 2x \\28 =2x \\x = 14

  • Now , breadth is x = 14\ m and length is  ( x + 27 ) \ m = 14 + 27 = 41\ m
  • To find area we use following formula -

         Area of rectangle = l\times b

  • Substituting the values we get,
  • Area of rectangle = 41 \times 14 \\

                                      = 574\ m^{2}

Hence , area of rectangle is 574\ m^{2} .

Note : since the unit of perimeter was not given we assumed it to be meter as unit of length was given in meter .
