Answer:

The width of the rectangle = x

The length of the rectangle = 2x

The perimeter = 22cm

now, we know that the perimeter of a rectangle is

2(l+b)

= 2(2x + x) = 22

= 2(3x) = 22

= 6x = 22

x =22/6

x = 11/3

now the width of rectangle = 11/3

the length is twice than width so,

= 11/3x2

= 22/3cm

the length of the rectangle is 22/3 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

the length of a rectangle is 2cm more than 3 times the width of the rectangle.if the perimeter of the rectangle is 28 cm

To find:-

find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Solution:-

Let the breadth of the rectangle be 'b' cm

Then the length of the rectangle =the length of a rectangle is 2cm more than 3 times the width of the rectangle

=>length=(3b+2) cm

Perimeter of the rectangle =

2(length+breadth) units

=>2(3b+2+b) cm

=>2(4b+2) cm

=>8b+4 cm

According to the given problem,

the perimeter of the rectangle is 28 cm

=>8b+4=28

=>8b=28-4

=>8b=24

=>b=24/8

=>b=3cm

l=3b+2=3(3)+2=9+2=11cm

Answer:-

Length of the rectangle =11 cm

Breadth of the rectangle=3 cm
