Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The length of a rectangle is 3 cm  more than its breadth and the perimeter is 22 cm.

To find : Dimensions of rectangle

Formula used :

The perimeter of rectangle =2(L+B)

  • Calculation for Dimensions of rectangle

we have perimeter of rectangle =22cm

First of all let the breadth of rectangle =x cm

Then the length of rectangle =(x+3)cm

So by using the formula, perimeter is,

The perimeter of rectangle =2(L+B)

                                    22=2[(x+3)+x]

                                      \frac{22}{2}=[x+3+x]

                                      11=2x+3

                                      2x=11-3

                                       2x=8

                                      x=\frac{8}{2}

                                     x=4

So the Breadth of rectangle =xcm

                                              =4cm

The length of rectangle =(x+3)cm

                                        =(4+3)cm

                                        =7cm

Hence, the dimensions of rectangle are 7cm,4cm.
