let the length be x

breadth = x-3

perimeter = 2(x-3+x)

or, 4x-6=54

or, x = 12

the length is 12cm and the breadth is 9cm

Answer:

2 (l+b) = perimeter of the rectangle.

2 (x-3+x)=54

2 (2x-6)=54.

4x-6=54.

4x=54+6

4x=60

x=60÷4

x=15

width =15

length = 3cm more than its width so,

3+x=3+15= 18.

length=18.
