Answer:

let \: width \:  = x \\ and \: length \:  = x + 3 \\  \\ given \: perimeter \:  = 26 \\ i.e.2(l + w) = 26 \\  =  > 2(x + x + 3) = 26 \\  =  > 2(2x + 3) = 26 \\  =  > 4x + 6 = 26 \\  =  > 4x = 26 - 6 \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = 20 \\  =  > x = 20 \div 4 \\  \:  \:  \:   = 5 \:  \\ now \: length  = x + 3 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: =  \:  \:  5 + 3 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 8
