Answer :-
- Breadth = 6cm
- Length = 18cm
Given :-
- The length of a rectangle is 3 times its width. The perimeter of the rectangle is 48 cm.
To Find :-
- Length and breadth of the rectangle.
Solution :-
Let
- The width of the rectangle be x.
- The length of the rectangle will be 3x.
→ It's given that the perimeter of the rectangle is 48cm.
As we know that
Perimeter of a rectangle is 2 (l + b)
Where,
- l = length
- b = breadth
According to question :-
2 (3x + x) = 48
→ 2 × 4x = 48
→ 8x = 48
→ x = 48/8
→ x = 6
Hence
- Breadth of the rectangle = x = 6cm
- Length of the rectangle = 3x = 3×6 = 18cm
