Answer :-

  • Breadth = 6cm
  • Length = 18cm

Given :-

  • The length of a rectangle is 3 times its width. The perimeter of the rectangle is 48 cm.

To Find :-

  • Length and breadth of the rectangle.

Solution :-

Let

  • The width of the rectangle be x.
  • The length of the rectangle will be 3x.

→ It's given that the perimeter of the rectangle is 48cm.

As we know that

Perimeter of a rectangle is 2 (l + b)

Where,

  • l = length
  • b = breadth

According to question :-

2 (3x + x) = 48

→ 2 × 4x = 48

→ 8x = 48

→ x = 48/8

→ x = 6

Hence

  • Breadth of the rectangle = x = 6cm
  • Length of the rectangle = 3x = 3×6 = 18cm
