the length of a rectangle is 3cm,more than its breadth.its perimeter is 18 cm,find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

2(l+b)=perimeter of rectangle
2(x+x+3)=2(2x+3)
4x+6=18
4x=18-6
4x=12
x=12/4
x=3
breadth=x=3
lenght=x+3=3+3=6

Answer 2

breadth = x

length = 3+x

perimeter = 2(l+b) = 18m

2(x+3+x) = 18

2 (2x+3 ) = 18

4x +6 = 18

4x = 18-6

4x = 12

x = 12/4

x = 3 

therefore 

breadth = 3

length= 3+3 = 6cm
