✔ For this type of numericals, we should hold the unknown quantity as "x" or any other variables.

✔ After that, we will proceed forward as per the question. What the question wants we will go after it.

✔ Formulas must be memorised well.

✔ We know, perimeter of rectangle = 2(length+breadth). So, we applied that immediately and here, in this case, the length of the rectangle becomes 3x unit (3x metre).

✔ After that we find x, which represents width or breadth of the rectangle. After finding breadth or width, we easily calculated the length of the given rectangle and hence the answer is ready.

==================================

Let the width of the rectangle be x m.

So, length = 3x m.

Hence, according to problem,

2(3x+x) = 84
=> 2 (4x) = 84
=> 4x = 84/2
=> x = 42/4
=> x = 10.5

So, Width = x = 10.5 m.
Length = (3×10.5) = 31.5 m. (Ans.)
