Answer:

here is your answer

Step-by-step explanation:

a length of a rectangle is x and breadth is y. As per condition 1 ie., Length of a rectangle is 4 cm more than its breadth. As per condition 2 i.e., perimeter of the rectangle is 40 cm.

b Then it's length = x+4 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle= 2(l+b)

= 2(x+4+x) = 2(2x+4) = 4x + 8 cm

But perimeter of the rectangle = 40 cm

So. 4x + 8 = 40 => 4x = 40 - 8 => 4x = 32

=> x = 32/4 => x = 8

So breadth = 8 cm

Length of the rectangle = x+4 = 8+4=12 cm

Answer:

In Rectangle

  • Let length be x cm
  • breadth = ( x - 4 ) cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

Perimeter of Rectangle = 84 cm

  • 2 ( l + b) = 84
  • 2 ( x + x - 4 ) = 84
  • 2x - 4 = 84/2
  • 2x = 42 + 4
  • 2x = 46
  • x = 46/2
  • x = 23

Length of Rectangle = 23 cm

Breadth of Rectangle = 23 - 4 = 19 cm

Length + Breadth = 23 + 19 = 42 cm
