The length of a rectangle is 4 cm more than its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 64 cm, how do you find the dimensions of the rectangle?

The length of a rectangle = 4 + b

perimeter  of a rectangle = 2 ( l + b)

                64                      = 2 ( 4 + b + b)

                32                      =  4 + 2 b

                32  - 4                = 2 b

                28                      =  2 b

so breadth = 28/2             = 14

and length  =  4 + 14         = 18

Answer :   length = 18 & breadth = 14
