Answer:

l=2b+4

perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

perimeter of this rectangle = 80 cm =2(2b+4+b)

80=2(3b+4)

80=6b+8

80-8=72=6b

72/6=12 cm =breadth

so length=2*12+4=24+4=28 cm

Given:

Length of rectangle = 4cm

Perimeter = 80 cm

To Find:

The length of the rectangle

Solution:

Let the breadth of rectangle be = x

Then the length will be = ( 2x + 4)

Perimeter of rectangle = 2.Length + 2.Breadth

Thus -

2( 2x+4) + 2x = 80

4x + 8 + 2x = 80

6x = 72

x = 12

Breadth of rectangle = 8cm

Substituting the value -

Length = 2x + 4

= 2(12) + 4

= 24 +4

= 28

Answer: Length of the rectangle is 28cm
