Perimeter of rectangle =40 cm (given)

condition :- length = 2× breadth +2

⇒l=2b+2

perimeter p=2(l+b)=40

⇒2(2b+2+b)=40

⇒2(3b+2)=40

⇒6b=40−4=36

∴b=6cm

l=2×6+2=12+2=14cm

∴ length =14 cm, breadth =6 cm

Answer:

Breadth= 8

Length = 12

The question is not clear

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is wrong because u mentioned that length is 40m and perimeter is 40cm which is not possible.

Length is in meter and perimeter is in cm. Not possible

I think the right question is:

The length of a rectangle is 4cm More than

its breadth The perimeter of rectangle

is 40 cm find the length and breadth of

Rectangle

If i am right then you can continue reading because solution is mentioned below:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm.

Then it's length = x+4 cm

Formula for Perimeter of the rectangle

= 2(Length + Breadth )

By putting values:

= 2(x+4+x)

= 2(2x+4)

= 4x + 8

We know that perimeter is 40 cm

Well

we can write

4x + 8 = 40

4x = 40 - 8

4x = 32

x = 32/4

x = 8

So breadth is 8 cm

and

Length of the rectangle

= x+4

= 8+4

=12 cm

(12 - 8 = 4cm

Well Lenghth is 4cm more than its breadth as mentioned in question)

All the best
