The length of a rectangle is 5 cm more than the breadth. If the perimeter of the rectangle
is 40 cm, find the area of the rectangle.​

Answer:

let breadth = x

then the length = x+ 5

parimeterof the rectangle = 2 ( length + breadth )

=> 2 (x+5 +x ) = 40

=> 2(2x+ 5) = 40

=> 4x+10 = 40

=> 4x = 40 -10

=> 4x = 30

=> x =30/4 =7.5 cm

so breadth = 7.5 cm

therefore length = 7.5 +5= 12.5 cm
