the length is 5-2x ,

breadth we say x =x

perimeter=50m

perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)

→50=2(5-2x+x)

→ 50= 2(5-x)

→ 50 = 10 - 2x

→ 50-10 = -2x

→ 40= -2x

→ x= -40/2

→ x = -20
