let the breath of the rectangle be x
thus , the lenght of the rectangle is x +5
perimeter=40cm

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)
40cm= 2 ( 5+x+x)
40/2 = 5 + 2x
20 -5 = 2 x
15/2 = x
x = 7.5
breadth =x = 7.5
lenght = x +5 = 7. 5 + 5= 12.5

area of the rectangle = l*b
7.5*12.5 = 93.75 cm²

hiya here's your answer...
hope it helps..
