Given :-

  • The length of rectangle is 5cm more than its breadth
  • the perimeter of rectangle = 40 cm²

To Find :-

  • length of rectangle
  • breadth of rectangle

Required Answer :-

:⟹ Here we assume the breadth of rectangle is X = B

:⟹ And length of rectangle is X + 5 = L

Now ,

:⟹ perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

:⟹ 40 cm² = 2 [ ( X + 5 ) + ( X ) ]

:⟹ 40cm² = X + 5 + X

2

:⟹ 20 cm² = 2X + 5

:⟹ 20 – 5 = 2x

:⟹ 15 = 2x

:⟹ 15 / 2 = x

:⟹ 7.5 = x

:⟹ length = X + 5 = 7.5 + 5 = 12.5 cm

:⟹ breadth = X = 7.5 cm

I hope it helps you
