but perimeter is given 250 and length is 5

now

2(l+b) =250

l=5, 2(5+b) =250

10+2b =250

2b=250-10=240

2b =240

b=240/2

b=120

then length is 5m grater then breath 120+5 length is 125

To find : length and breadth of rectangle

Given : length of rectangle is $5$ times greater than it's breadth and it's perimeter is $250$ m

Solution :

• According to question we are given that length of rectangle is $5$ times greater it's breadth and it's perimeter is $250$ m .We have to find  length and breadth of rectangle .
• Let , breadth of rectangle be $x$ and length be $5x$ .

• We use following formula perimeter :  

• Perimeter of rectangle = $2 ( l + b )$

• Substituting the values we get,

        $250 =2 (5x + x) \\125 = 6x \\x =\frac{125}{6} \\x = 20.83$

• Now , breadth of rectangle = $x = 20.83\ m$

                  length of rectangle = $5x = 5\times 20.83 =104.15\ m$

Hence, length and breadth of rectangle are $20.83\ m$ and $104.15\ m$ .
