The length of a rectangle is 6 cm more than its breadth . If its length is decreased by 3 and breadth is increased by 2 cm, the area remains unchanged.Find the length and breadth of the original rectangle.​

Answer:

Let the breadth be x

length =x+6

Area =(x+6)×(x)

=ײ+6x

Length of new rectangle =x+6-3=x+3

breadth of new rectangle =x+2

Area remains unchanged =x²+6x

(x+3)×(x+2)=x²+6x

x²+2x+3x+6=x²+6x

x²-x²+5x-6x=-6

-x=-6

x=6
