Answer:

length = 54 m breadth = 20 m

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter

= 2 ( l + b )

=2 ( 54 + 20 )

2 × 74

= 148 m

so length is 54 m and breadth is 20 m

Answer:

  • Length and breadth of rectangle will be 54 & 20 metres respectively .

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the Question

It is given that, length of a rectangle is 6 m less than 3 times its breadth .

The perimeter is 148 m

we have to calculate the length & breadth of rectangle .

According to the Given Condition :

Let the length be y

and , breadth be x

Now, according to the given condition

length of a rectangle is 6 m less than 3 times its breadth .

↠ y = 3x-6 -----(i)

again,

Perimeter of Rectangle is given 148m

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

↠ 148 = 2(length + breadth)

↠ 148/2 = (length + breadth)

↠ 74 = x + y ------(ii)

Now, putting the value of y = 3x - 6 from equation in equation (ii) we get

↠ 74 = 3x -6 + x

↠ 80 = 4x

↠ x = 80/4

↠ x = 20 m

Now, putting the value of x = 20 in equation (I) we get

↠ y = 3(20)-6

↠ y = 60-6

↠ y = 54 m

  • Hence, the length and breadth of the rectangle will be 54 & 20 m respectively.
