Let length be l,
and let the Breadth be b,

From the question ,
l = 6b,

In general the perimeter of a rectangle whose length is l and breadth is b is , 2(l+b),

Given that, Perimeter = 294cm,

We can write perimeter as 2(6b+b)
=> 2(7b) = 294cm,
=> 14b = 294cm, Divide each side by 14,
=> b = 21cm,
From this the length = 6*21 = 126cm,

So therefore the length = 126cm and the breadth = 21cm,

Hope you understand, Have a great day !!

afrozgauharp0dzps: I can't understand where 7 comes from,please help
Bunti360: 6 + 1 = 7, Similarly 6b + 1b = 7b !!
afrozgauharp0dzps: Ok,so b can also b 1b
afrozgauharp0dzps: I mean b can also be 1b
afrozgauharp0dzps: ??

Let the length of the rectangle be x.
∴ Breadth of the rectangle = 6x

BT.P.,
Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b)
                            294        = 2(6x+x)
                            294        = 2*7x
                            294        = 14x
                            294/14   = x
                            21          = x
                             x           = 21

∴ Breadth = x = 21 cm
   Length = 6x = 6*21 = 126 cm

Hope it helped you!!

Bunti360: If length is x, Then how can the length be 6*21 = 126cm ?
Faiqa93: Sorry
Faiqa93: Breadth would be x
Bunti360: It's ok , atleast you tried !
Faiqa93: And length will be 6x
Faiqa93: Thnk you for saying tht!
Bareeq: thanks both of you for helping me to solve this problem
Faiqa93: It's our pleasure!!
