Diagonal = 80 cm

Lets pick out a triangle from the rectangle ABCD

In Triangle ABC,

AB = base = Length of the rectangle = 64 cm

AC = hypotenuse = Diagonal = 80 cm

By Pythagorus Theorem,

BC² = AC²- BC²

BC²=  80²- 64²

BC²= (80-64)²

BC²= 24²

BC= 24 cm

In rectangle ABCD,

BC= breadth= 24 cm

Area= l*b

      = 64 * 24

      = 1536 cm²
