Answer:

let b = x

length = (x+8)

A/q,

2(2x+8) = 84

2x+8 = 42

2x = 34

x = 17

length = 25

area = 25*17 = 425 cm²

\Large\bold{\underline{\underline{Solution:-}}}

 {\textbf{\underline{$Area = 72 cm^2$}}}

 \huge{\textbf{\underline{As per Question:-}}}

Let the length of rectangle be l and breadth be b.

Length is 6 cm more than its breadth.

L = 6 + b

Perimeter of rectangle = 84 cm

 \large{\textbf{\underline{Perimeter of Rectangle $= 2 (l + b)$}}}

 84 = 2 (l +b)

 84 = 2 ( 6+b+b)

 84 = 2 ( 6 + 2b )

 84 = 12 +12 b

 84-12 = 12b

 72 = 12b

 \therfore b = 6cm

length = 6 + b

length = 6 + 6 = 12 cm

 \large{\textbf{\underline{Area of Rectangle:-}}}

 l \times b

 12 \times 6

 72 cm^2
