Answer:

B=breadth; L=length=2B-6 m; P=perimeter=2(L+B)=54 m

P=2(L+B)

54 m=2(L+B) Substitute for L

54 m=2((2B-6)+B) Divide each side by 2

27 m=3B-6 Add 6 to each side.

33 m=3B Divide each side by 3

11 m=B ANSWER 1: The breadth is 11 meters.

L=2B-6 m=2(11 m)-6 m=22m-6m =16 m ANSWER 2: The length is 16 meters.

CHECK:

P=2(L+B)

54 m=2(16 m + 11 m)

54 m=2(27 m)

54 m=54 m

Hope this helps you
