Answer:

let the breadth of the rectangle is x cm

so length is (x+7) cm

perimeter=2(length+breadth)=40

=> 2(x+7+x)=40

=> 2x+7=40/2=20

=> 2x=20-7=13

=> x=13/2=6 .5

so breadth =13/2cm=6.5cm

length=(6.5+7)cm=13.5 cm

area of the rectangle =length×bredth

=13.5cm×6.5cm

=87.75 sq cm
