Let the breadth be x
let the length be x+8
perimeter of rectangle=2 (length +breadth)
so, 2 (x+x+8)=44cm
=2 (2x+8)=44
=4x + 16=44
=4x= 44-16
=4x= 28
=x = 28÷4
=x= 7
therefore,
breadth is 7 (x)
length is 7+8 (x+8)
=15

Hope it helps

Given:-

  • Perimeter of the rectangle is 44cm.
  • Length of the rectangle is 8cm.

To find:-

  • Find the length and breadth of the rectangle....?

Solutions:-

  • Let the width be x cm.
  • Let the length be (x - 8)cm.
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 44cm.

Therefore,

The perimeter of rectangle => 2(l + w)

=> 44 = 2(x + x + 8)

=> 44 = 2(2x + 8)

=> 44/2 = 2x + 8

=> 22 = 2x + 8

=> 22 - 8 = 2x

=> 14 = 2x

=> x = 14/2

=> x = 7

So,

  • Width => 7cm
  • Length => x + 8 = 7 + 8 = 15cm

Hence, the width of the rectangle is 7cm. And the length of the rectangle is 15cm.

Some Important:-

  • Area of rectangle => l × b
  • Perimeter of rectangle => 2(l + w)
  • Diagonal of rectangle => √l² + w²
