Answer:

We know Perimeter = 2 (length + width)

Perimeter = 2 (x + 8 + x)

Perimeter = 2 (2x + 8)

Perimeter = 4x + 16 cm

4x + 16 = 80 cm

4x = 80 - 16

4x = 64

x = 64/4 cm

x = 16 cm

Thus the width of the rectangle is 16 cm

Length of the rectangle x + 8 = 16 + 8 = 24 cm

Given :-

  • The length of a rectangle is 8 cm more than the breadth if the perimeter of the rectangle is 80 cm.

To Find :-

  • Length of rectangle = ?

Formula used :-

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (Length + Breadth)

Answer :-

  • Length of rectangle = 24 cm

Explaination :-

Let the Breadth of rectangle be 'x' cm.

Therefore, the Length of rectangle will be (x + 8) cm.

According to Question :-

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

→ 80 = 2(x + 8 + x)

→ 80 = 2(2x + 8)

→ 80 = 4x + 16

→ 80 - 16 = 4x

→ 64 = 4x

→ x = 64 ÷ 4

x = 16 cm

Hence,

  • Length of rectangle = x + 8 = 16 + 8 = 24 cm
  • Breadth of rectangle = x = 16 cm
